IMSA Executive Committee for the 2024-2025 Academic Year

 

The International Meteorological Students Association (IMSA) elected its new Executive Committee for the 2024-2025 academic year in June 2024. A dedicated election committee oversaw the process, allowing all candidates to present their platforms and visions for IMSA's future. Students voted based on these manifestos, resulting in the following leadership team:

 

Below are the new executives who will lead IMSA during the 2024-2025 academic year.

President:


Dinesh Madhushanka

A second-year PhD student in Applied Meteorology from Sri Lanka, Dinesh is committed to fostering collaboration and international knowledge exchange within the field of meteorology. He brings valuable experience in IT, GIS, and research project management, including leading teams and delivering successful projects. Dinesh is eager to leverage his skills and experience to further IMSA's mission.

 

Vice President:

Aminu Dalhatu Datti

A second-year PhD student from Nigeria and a meteorologist at the Department of Applied Meteorological Services, Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), Aminu is dedicated to serving the NUIST community. As Vice President, he will focus on enhancing the student experience by supporting workshops, seminars, peer mentorship programs, and platforms for showcasing student research and talents. He thanked the outgoing leadership for their support and expressed his commitment to collaborative leadership.

 

Secretary-General:

Khan Komal

A PhD candidate in Applied Meteorology, Khan, along with her colleagues, is committed to strengthening IMSA's support for student career development and collaborative efforts within the field of meteorology.

 

Treasurer:


Thet Mar Soe

A second-year Master's student in Applied Meteorology from Myanmar, Thet Mar Soe is dedicated to providing timely and beneficial information and resources to IMSA members. She is committed to contributing to the association's success.

 

PhD Representative:

Anselem Onyejuruwa

A PhD student in Applied Meteorology from Nigeria, Anselem's research focuses on atmospheric dynamics and numerical modeling. He is passionate about representing the PhD community within IMSA and advocating for their needs and interests. He looks forward to contributing to IMSA's initiatives and fostering a supportive environment for fellow doctoral students.

 

MSc Representative:

Ebaju Gerverse Kamukama

An MSc candidate in Applied Meteorology from Uganda, Ebaju is dedicated to representing MSc students and ensuring their voices are heard within IMSA. He is eager to contribute to initiatives and create valuable opportunities for fellow students.

 

BSc Representative:

Khattak Naid Khan

As a Bachelor's student in Computer Science and Technology, Khattak brings his interest in software development and AI to his role, aiming to foster innovation and contribute to the success of undergraduate members.

 

This diverse and talented team is poised to lead IMSA to new heights in the 2024-2025 academic year, serving the IMSA community and contributing to the advancement of meteorology.
