Embarking on a captivating journey into the world of programming, the Java workshop at NUIST premises is an enriching experience. Led by the esteemed instructor, Danso Solomon Danquah, an inveterate researcher in Quantum Security, this four-day event is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in Java programming language.
Day 1 Introduction to Java Programming
The inaugural day will set the stage with a focus on the importance of Java and its architectural components. Participants will dive into writing their first Java program, understanding essential elements such as keywords, identifiers, literals, data types, and basic operators.
Day 2 User Inputs and Conditions
Building on the basics, day two will explore user inputs, conditional statements (if-else, switch-case), and loops (while, do-while, for). Participants will gain hands-on experience in handling keyboard inputs and mastering the art of creating efficient conditional structures and loops.
Day 3 Collections and Functions
Day three will delve into the realm of collections, covering arrays, hash tables, and vectors. Participants will also explore the concept of functions, understanding parameters, and return types. The day will culminate with an introduction to Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), unraveling the concepts of class and object.
Day 4 OOP and Summary
The final day will condense the understanding of OOP principles, including inheritance, polymorphism, abstraction, and encapsulation. The workshop will conclude with a session on exception handling, ensuring participants are well-versed in addressing errors in their code.
