The 23rd edition of the Academic Rainbow forum for Business students successfully took place in the Reading Academy Building Room C101 on Friday, November 19 2021. The host for the event, Miss. Grace C. Ndafira, gave the welcome address and proceeded to acknowledge the presence of some distinguished judges from the Business School.

Miss. Yana Buravleva’s presentation focused on “The impact of Government subsidies on the innovation of Lithium Battery Enterprises in China”. She highlighted the need for the present study considering China being the highest producer of said product in the world (i.e., produces two-thirds of the world’s total Lithium-ion/batteries). Her study employed regression analysis, fixed and random effects models, Hausman test, information flow and OLS regression. Her study further established a correlation between PO, GS and R&D.
Mr. Brandon J. Bethel, who was the second speaker for the day’s presentation, explored “Advancing the Blue Economy and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in the Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development”. He highlighted the importance of this topic to the global community, outlining both the benefits and risks that vulnerable groups in coastal regions face from the ocean. He further linked the scope of his review study to some key Sustainable Development Goals and discussed opportunities available after the global community harnesses the Blue Economy.
Mr. Isaiah A. Adegoke, the third speaker for the day’s research theme was entitled: “Impact of Sustainable Supply Chain Management Practices on Organizational Performances in Ghana”. He outlined some key sustainability concepts that anchor supply chain management practices. He enumerated some mitigation measures that impacted negatively on the environment, help businesses and manufacturers, as well as reduced supply chain disruption in the environment.
Miss. Boamah’s study focused on forecasting the demand for oil in Ghana. Her study employed some quantitative tools to analyse some data between 2003 and 2017. Her findings revealed oil demand depends on a variety of factors based on the variables analyzed. Her findings further revealed forecasting for some variables followed an increasing trend. In her conclusion, she stated the linear regression model had the best performance, among the models being analyzed. Her study recommended other models for further testing.

The judges posed some questions to the speakers. The questions and suggestions raised by the judges and audience were intended to improve the theoretical and application value of studies presented.
Closing Remarks
The curtain on the 23rd edition of the academic rainbow forum event was drawn with a closing remark, delivered by Mr. Collins Oduro, the President of AAD thanked all the speakers, judges and audience present for making the event a success. The closing remark was shortly followed by a presentation of certificates to the speakers.
