APPOINTMENT OF DORM SUPERVISORS AND SAFETY TRAINING
The Domestic Affairs Department held an event on the 8th of November, 2021. The event was designed in two folds: (i) equip DAD members and the student body with some safety tips, as well as (ii) appoint dormitory supervisors to ensure sanity (a safe and conducive environment), through service at the dormitory. The event was graced by the Vice Dean of CIS, Zhang Guanglei. The event began with a welcome note from the host, Mr. Isaac Sarfo (Kobby), followed by a brief presentation on Dorm safety by the DAD President, Mr. Daniel Appiah Kumah (Dankay).

To ensure the safety of our dormitories, the University through the CIS and DAD offers a variety of services and programs that contribute to a safe living environment. Students were educated on fire/electrical safety, drinking and smoking, protecting personal belongings and escape plans (exits) during emergencies. Mr. Kumah concluded by entreating students to take the safety tips serious if they aspire to have a great learning experience as NUISTERS.

The President’s presentation was followed by a speech given by the Vice Dean of CIS, Zhang Guanglei. He emphasized the importance of dorm safety as ignorance may lead to fatal avertable situations. He concluded by encouraging students to comply with various regulations that ensure safety at the dormitory. He reiterated the need for students to look out for each other, coupled with sharing these informative/educative tips among friends, coursemates, neighbours and so on. He further advocated and tasked “the dorm supervisors” to not only manage or use their veto to abuse others but serve wholeheartedly to ensure the sanity of the dormitory.

The meeting ended with a vote of thanks and closing remarks from DAD’s senior consultant, Mr. Matthews Nyasulu.
