The world of technology is constantly evolving, with the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into the Internet of Things (IoT) creating new opportunities for smart devices. To explore this intersection, the Computer Electronic Software Society (CESS) has organized an exciting workshop titled Hands-On Workshop: Exploring TinyML and Smart IoT for Next-Gen Edge Intelligence.. This workshop will offer students hands-on experience in implementing machine learning models on microcontrollers using TinyML.

Date: October 13 (Sunday)

Time: 13:00 - 16:00 (3-hour single-day session)

Location: Main Campus (Mingde Building 109) & Jinniuhu (Online)

The workshop is structured to cover two primary learning objectives within a 3-hour session:

First Session

Understanding how to build a basic Machine Learning (ML) model.

Second Session

Learning how to use TinyML to deploy the developed model on microcontrollers.

Requirements

To fully benefit from the workshop, participants should have:

Access to a laptop (participants are encouraged to bring their own).

Use your Google account to create new accounts on www.github.com, www.kaggle.com, www.wokwi.com.

If the person uses their local IDE, install python3 (install modules: aifes, everywhereml), Jupiter notebook, Arduino IDE.

Instructor

Ndombasi Diakusala Joao Andre, 安杰

2nd Year Master's Student in Artificial Intelligence.

Key Details

Target Audience: Students in Engineering and Technology-related majors.

Session Type: Hands-on coding with practical implementation.

Participation Acknowledgement: All participants will receive an activity stamp for their involvement.

By the end of the session, participants will have a solid foundation in both building ML models and deploying them on small-scale devices, a skill that is crucial for real-world IoT applications.
