Warming Up the Season: A Review of DAD’s Winter Indoor Fun Activity
On the afternoon of February 18th, DAD organized a friendly indoor fun game event at Reading Academy C101. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as 15 teams converged to showcase their competitive spirit. It was more than just a competition; it was a day filled with laughter, friendship, and unforgettable moments that unfolded during this extraordinary event.
Let’s dive into the heart-pounding action of the games, where teams faced off in a series of exhilarating challenges designed to test their teamwork.
Cup Tower Building
In the first challenge of the fun games showdown, one representative from each team had to build a straight tower using only cups and a balloon, all within the one-minute timeframe. They had to inflate the balloon and guide it into the cups without the use of their hands.
Musical chairs
The classic game of Musical Chairs added a playful twist to the competition. Participants circled a decreasing number of chairs, their eyes fixed on the music, ready to dash a seat when the music stopped. With each round, tension mounted, and laughter filled the air.
Pyramid balloon
Next up was the Pyramid Balloon challenge, where participants put their balancing skills to the test. With steady hands and quick reflexes, a member from each team worked to construct a towering pyramid structure while keeping a blown balloon afloat in the air. Meanwhile, the rest of the team members rallied around their chosen participants; their cheers and encouragement filled the air with infectious energy, and support which helped the participants to maintain the precarious balance between building the pyramid and preventing the balloon from touching the ground.
Spelling bee
In the Spelling Bee, fifteen participants stood poised on the stage, ready to showcase their mastery of language. With bated breath, they awaited the words (Quixotic, Tumultuous, Cappuccino, Encyclopedia, etc.)the host gave, their minds racing to recall the correct spelling in the heat of the moment. It was a test of wit and memory, with every correctly spelled word earning cheers from the audience and advancing the contestant one step closer to victory.
Bouncing cup
The excitement continued to soar with the arrival of the Bouncing Cup challenge. The volunteers arranged cups in a triangular shape. With three balls at their disposal, participants took turns skillfully bouncing them on the table, aiming to land them into the waiting cups.
Charades
In the game of Charades, one participant of each team animatedly acted out secret roles without speaking, At the same time, their teammates tried to guess the answers. Laughter filled the room as expressive gestures and animated expressions brought characters to life. Charades provided a unique opportunity for participants to collaborate closely, shaping their ability to understand each other without using words.
Balloon stomp
In the final challenge, 'Balloon Stomp', one participant from each team was on stage with balloons tied to their legs. Surrounded by joyous laughter and enthusiastic applause, they raced to pop opponents' balloons while protecting their own, igniting a friendly rivalry infused with laughter and joy.
Concluding the DAD's Indoor Fun Games Event, participants gathered for a group photo, capturing the day’s joy. They posed for the camera with smiles on their faces and memories in their hearts, cherishing the bonds forged and the laughter shared. It was a fitting conclusion to a day filled with fun and friendship, leaving everyone with lasting memories to cherish.
