The Domestic Affairs Department Jinniuhu continues its commitment to prioritizing the welfare of students with the 2nd Cleaning Campaign for the academic year 2023-2024. This initiative seeks to raise awareness and promote cleanliness in our residential spaces. DAD encourages students to participate in these activities to deepen their understanding of the importance of cleanliness in creating better living conditions.
The Domestic Affairs Department Jinniuhu took action to organize a cleaning campaign at Jinniuhu Campus, Xi Yuan Dorm 3, on April 14th, 2024. The main objective was to uphold the standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the dormitory premises. Students and DAD executives actively participated in the event, working together to guarantee that the dormitory was neat and clean. This collaborative effort showcased the dedication of both students and staff toward maintaining a healthy living environment for everyone residing in the dormitory.
The participants eagerly gathered in the lobby around 2:00 p.m., brimming with energy and excitement to commence the cleaning activity. This moment marked a significant turnout, with numerous students registering to participate. Upon everyone's arrival in the lobby, DAD executives began distributing CIE polo shirts to the participants, creating a sense of unity and belonging among the group. Additionally, they provided all the necessary cleaning products and equipment, ensuring that everyone was well-equipped and ready to contribute to the cleaning campaign.

The DAD executives efficiently grouped the students into six teams, ensuring a balanced mix of boys and girls in each group. Each team was tasked with cleaning a specific floor area, including the public kitchen, fridge, cupboard, sink, microwave, induction cooker, and corridor. This systematic division facilitated a well-organized cleaning process, guaranteeing thorough maintenance of each floor.
Clear instructions were given to the groups before cleaning, enabling the students to work cohesively within their designated teams and achieve a successful and productive cleaning operation.
The participants worked together diligently, focusing on cleaning and sanitizing various dormitory areas. They meticulously performed tasks like dusting, sweeping, mopping, cleaning the refrigerator, and disinfecting, ensuring cleanliness. The accompanying pictures capture the various stages of the cleaning process, emphasizing the participants' commitment and determination to uphold a pristine and hygienic environment.
After two hours of diligent cleaning and strenuous work, the six groups assembled again in the lobby, their faces beaming with smiles and laughter. The participants were filled with accomplishment and satisfaction after completing their assigned tasks, and the moment had arrived to commemorate this special moment with a group photo. This photo will forever encapsulate their tireless dedication, camaraderie, and the sheer delight they experienced throughout this gratifying cleaning session.
The success of this campaign was only possible with the students’ active participation and cooperation. Their efforts have positively impacted and set an excellent example for others. We hope that this experience has instilled in students the importance of cleanliness and fostered a sense of community and responsibility.
