THE NEXT CHAPTER: AAD'S LEADERSHIP HANDOVER FOR 2024/25
The Academic Affairs Department successfully held a closing ceremony for the 2023/2024 academic year and a handover ceremony for the 2024/25 academic year on June 17, 2023, in the Reading Academy Building (C101). The outgoing executives passed on their responsibilities to the incoming executives.
The event began with a welcome address from the previous president, Mr. Goma Tshivetta Christian followed by an introduction from the coordinator, Mr. Frank. They provided an overview of the department, explained the importance of the meeting, and outlined the responsibilities of the executives within the department. They also highlighted the achievements of the 2023/24 academic year and encouraged the incoming executives to build on the successes. Additionally, they emphasized the importance of everyone being dedicated to the department's growth and promoting the welfare of international students on campus. After the opening remarks, Mr. Goma Tshivetta Christian reviewed the department's activities, fairs, and training sessions from the 2023/2024 academic year.
Shortly after, certificates of diligence were awarded to AAD members who demonstrated outstanding and consistent dedication to the department throughout the academic year. Following that, the potential candidates for new roles were then introduced. They presented their manifestos and answered questions from the attendees. A poll was then conducted to select the successful candidates for the open positions.
The incoming President Mr Isogun Toluwalase Adewale, on behalf of his team, thanked the members present and assured them of substaining and enhancing the legacies of his predecessors. The newly elected executives were therein elected into office for the 2024/2025 academic year.
The College of International Education (CIE) extends its gratitude to the 2023/24 executives and congratulates the newly inducted executives for the 2024/25 academic year.
