I. Program Overview

Undergraduate program of Artificial Intelligence

Study duration:1-year preparatory study & 4-year major study

Master program of Artificial Intelligence

Study duration: 2-year

Instruction language: English

II. Eligibility

1. Applicants must be a citizen of Sri Lanka and be in good health both mentally and physically.

2. The requirements for applicants’ degree and age are that applicants must:

-be a high school graduate under the age of 25 when applying for an undergraduate program;

-be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for a master’s program.

3. Applicants must have outstanding academic records (average score 80 or above out of 100 / CGPA3.0 or above out of 4).

4. Applicants for the undergraduate program must provide a valid Chinese proficiency test certificate (HSK Level 3 or above).

III. Application Procedure

1. Apply online  before June 10 in the following website:

2. Qualified applicants shall attend an interview organized by the university. 

IV. Application Documents

1. Copy of Passport Home Page. If the validity of the applicant’s current passport does not meet the requirement (meaning the passport expires before September 2022), please apply for a new passport before submitting the application;

2. Notarized highest diploma. Prospective diploma recipients must submit an official document issued by their current school to prove the student status or expected graduation date. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations;

3. Academic transcripts. These transcripts shall be issued and sealed by the attending school’s academic affairs office or student management department. They can be in Chinese or English, but must be attached with notarized English translations if they are in foreign languages other than English;

4. Language qualification certificates. Applicants for Chinese-taught programs must submit a valid HSK (Level 3) report. Applicants for English-taught programs must submit a valid English proficiency certificate (TOEFL 80+ /IELTS 6.0+ /Duolingo 85+) if they are from non-English speaking countries;

5. A study plan or research proposal. A study plan written in Chinese or English shall contain more than 400 characters or words for undergraduate applicants and 1,000 characters or words for master applicants;

6. Recommendation letters (only for master applicants). Two letters of recommendation (written only in Chinese or English) from professors or associate professors shall be submitted. These letters shall describe the applicant’s objectives of learning in China, comprehensive abilities, and evaluation of future growth, as well as the cooperation between the supervisors or the exchange between universities both in China and abroad;

7. A photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English (the original copy shall be kept by the applicant). The form is designed by the Chinese quarantine authority. The physical examinations must cover all of the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to take a physical examination as the result is valid for only 6 months.

8. Non-criminal record report. The applicant shall submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority, usually issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application.

9. Other supporting materials (such as published papers, job certificate, certificates of awards and training, etc.).

Reminder: Uploaded application documents must be clear, authentic and valid. Applicants are recommended to use a professional device to scan the relevant documents. Applicants shall bear the consequences caused by unclear or unidentifiable uploaded materials.

V. Others

1. Scholarship recipients shall not receive other freshman scholarships offered by the Chinese government, local governments or institutions at the same time.

2. Scholarship recipients shall not change their host university, major, or duration of study stipulated on the Admission Letter.

3. Scholarship will not be reserved if scholarship recipients cannot register before the registration deadline.

4. Scholarship recipients shall attend the annual review according to the university's  Measures on Annual Review of Government Scholarships at the end of each academic year.
