Dr. Eyram Norgbey, an associate professor at the NUIST Reading Academy and a visiting scholar of the Federal Highway Research Institute-BAST in Cologne, Germany, expressed his delight in being among students and noted that the Academic Talk provided a platform to share his research experiences. There were two sessions in all; the first session tackled how to select a viable research topic and write a good research proposal, while the second session delved into the content and structure of thesis writing.

Dr. Eyram gave an overview of research, points to consider during research and available websites where good research articles can be accessed. He went on to outline the format for PhD, Master's, and bachelor's thesis. Dr. Eyram also presented a detailed approach to thesis writing using How to get Gulou from my Dormitory as a sample topic. He addressed the common mistakes made in thesis writing and discussed the solutions.
