1. What English-taught programs do you offer?

The university offers English-taught undergraduate programs, including Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science and Technology, International Economics and Trade, Financial Engineering, Electronic Information Engineering.

English-taught master programs are as follows: Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science and Technology, Business Management, Finance, Environmental Science and Engineering, Information and Communication Engineering, Meteorology, Applied Meteorology.

All of the doctoral degree programs can be taught in English. Please refer to the programs list at https://gjy.nuist.edu.cn/english/PhwDPrograms/list.htm.


2. What kinds of scholarships do you offer if we want to apply to NUIST?

The university offers scholarships at different levels, such as Chinese Government Scholarship, MOFCOM Scholarship for Master of Meteorology, International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship, Nanjing Municipal Government Scholarship and university scholarship, etc. Please refer to “Scholarship” in our website for scholarship details, eligibility and application procedures.


3. Should applicants for master and doctoral degree programs provide acceptance letter from supervisors?

Applicants for master degree programs do not need an acceptance letter.

Applicants for doctoral degree programs must have an acceptance letter, which is a necessary application document.

4. Do you accept vocational college students to apply for the undergraduate programs?

Students at the final year of the vocational colleges in China can apply to NUIST for undergraduate programs. The study duration is 2-year. The university will announce the specific majors and requirements on the website. You can also consult our admission officer Mr. Jeremy for details by tel 025-58731383 or email jeremy@nuist.edu.cn.

 


5. Where can international students have meals on campus?

International students can dine at the east-campus canteen, the middle-campus canteen, Qinyuan Canteen, the faculty canteen (the 2nd floor), the new and old canteens on west-campus with their e-cards, or eat in the food court in the middle campus and restaurants in the 1960 Block through Alipay, Wechat Wallet or cash. International students can also choose to cook meals in public kitchens in Dormitory 1 and Dormitory 6.

 

6. What should I do if I lose my e-card?

You can report the loss and make a new one through the deposit machine at the staircase on the first floor of each canteen. Or go to the e-card center with your passport and student ID book to report the loss and make a new one there. The fee of making a new card is 20 yuan, and prepare 20 yuan in cash in advance in case there is no deposit left in the e-card.

 

7. What school address should I write for receiving and posting express packages?

International students living on campus can receive and post packages with the following address:

8. Which immigration office should I go to for visa extension?

International students usually go to the Jiangbei New Area Exit and Entry Administration Center to apply for visa extension, address: 3rd floor of Jiangbei New Area Citizen Center, No. 292 Binjiang Avenue, Pukou District, Nanjing.

In addition, every Tuesday afternoon, international students can apply for visa extension at Chang Xinyan Police Studio of Jiangbei New Area Branch of Nanjing Municipal Public Security Bureau between 2pm to 5pm, address: the west side of Jijia Building in campus.
