Opening Ceremony of Training Course on Meteorological Science was held in NUIST

On the morning of January 5, 2018, the opening ceremony of Training Course on Meteorological Science was held in Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology. Prof. Ma Tinghuai, the deputy dean of College of International Students, addressed the opening ceremony held by Prof. Jing Yuanshu, the deputy dean of College of International Students, Mr. Zhu Jinjun, the deputy dean of College of International Students, Mr. TANG CHI SHING, the program director of Varsity Assist Sdn Bhd and students from Malaysia attended the ceremony.

On the opening ceremony, Prof. Ma Tinghuai warmly welcomed all participants and gave a brief introduction to the general conditions of NUIST and College of International Students while looking back the history of international education of NUIST. He stated that this Training Course provides a good opportunity for the Malaysian students to understand Chinese culture in depth and to learn the meteorological science. Prof. Ma also reminded the students to take a good care of themselves because of the cold weather in China now, and hoped them enjoy a happy time in China.

Mr. TANG CHI SHING thanked NUIST and College of International Students for their contributions to this Training Course. China has a rich and profound civilization, which will broaden the students' knowledge and horizon. He hoped that the students could make full use of their time in NUIST to learn about Meteorological Science and Chinese culture.

Delivering a vote of thanks, Ms. TING XIAN FEI, a student representing participants attending this Training Course, promised that they would cherish this opportunity and learn more about China.

This training course was selected as a Short-term Program for International Students of Jiangsu Province in 2017. Students from Malaysia will visit Nanjing and Shanghai in China. They will attend meteorological training courses and various experiencing activities to improve their meteorological knowledge and deepen their understanding about China and the Chinese culture.
