From December 4th to 7th, Vice dean of College of International Students Mr. ZHANG Guanglei and international students’ supervisor Ms. XU Jialu lead 18 Masters of Meteorology sponsored by MOFCOM to visit Chengdu for a reseach and cultural tour.
In the morning of December 5th, international students visited Sichuan Provincial Meteorology Bureau and had a close contact with the Meteorological public service center , media center as well as the Meteorology Center of Chengdu Plateau.The international students are interested in the places they visited and communicated with the work staff after they introduced their routine work.
In the afternoon, students visited Chengdu University of Information Technology. They toured around the library, visited the atmospheric observatory base and had two lectures.
On December 6th, international students went to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding and saw panda in real life rather than pictures in the China Overview textbook. Moreover, they strolled along the huanglongxi ancient town, watched the Face Changing Show, and explored the Jinlin street for local customs.
Through the research and cultural tour in Chengdu, international students get to know more knowledge in meteorology field, Chinese culture and life of Chinese people. This would be an impressive experience of their study expeience in China.
