NUIST Longshan Scholarship (D-class)

I. General Provisions

 The university established NUIST Longshan Scholarship (D-class) for the purpose of encouraging international students who have outstanding performances in certain aspect and promoting overall development of students.

II. Subjects and Categories of the Awards 

1. All international students who have been studying at NUIST for one semester and above can apply for the awards.

2. Longshan Scholarship (D-class) includes the Award for Academic Excellence, the Award for Student Cadre, the Award for Polite Manner and the Award for Social Activity.

III. Number of Winners

The award winners account for at most 15% of all international students in NUIST.

IV. Criteria

          1. Strictly observe Chinese laws and regulations, NUIST rules and regulations and behave well in the daily life.

          2. Have a good study attitude and academic performance. No record of failing an examination during the reviewing academic year.

3. The detailed criteria for different categories are as follows:

(1) The Award for Academic Excellence:  Students should be excellent in academic performance. Master and PhD students should be excellent in the field of research and have high-quality thesis publications. (Original published papers and copies should be provided for reviewing).Outstanding performance in academic competitions is preferred. If there is no professional courses in the teaching curriculum in that school year, students should be excellent in the field of research achievements and thesis publications.

(2) The Award for Student Cadre: student cadres should be on of the main staff of international student associations or act as a class leader who assist the college in organizing various activities with strong sense of responsibility, work efficiently to serve students and have outstanding achievements in the service work.

(3) The Award for Polite Manner: students are kind, honest, always helping others, enthusiastic about public welfare, undertaking and contributive in university publicity.

(4) The Award for Social Activity: students participate actively and get achievements in sports, cultural and social activities.

V.  Assessing Procedures

1. The awards are assessed every April.

2. Applicants can fill The Application Form of NUIST Longshan Scholarship (D-class) of International Students and submit it within the stipulated period of time. Each applicant can only apply for one award.

3. College of International Students shall evaluate the application forms and documents and name the candidates of the awards.

4. The Scholarship Committee shall publicize the candidates of the awards and report to the vice president in charge of international students’ affairs for approval.

5. The final result will be published through CIS WeChat Official Account and posted on the college notice board.
